The Orient Rods Venus V-3 13' 3-5oz. is a reinforced version of the V2, which can truly be described as a casting rod for working with large loads in demanding conditions (headwind, working with large PVA sticks and heavy loads). The efficiency of its performance at a given effort is 20% higher than other models.
This increase in performance was made possible by the addition of transverse prepreg to the longitudinal fibers at a specific angle, which provided additional stiffness and strength like a multi-layer reinforced sheet. A finish coating with a higher modulus of elasticity of the fibers is also used. Thanks to these changes, it was possible to reduce the diameter of the blank, which makes the rod more elegant without losing strength.
A novelty in the design is the butt cap made of titanium and carbon, which was developed by our company and is a real highlight of the rod. As with our flagship rod Iva, the handle is made using a carbon stocking. The lightweight ALPS series guides installed on the rod have minimal impact on the structure and bend of the blank.
Five guide rings (5G) could be used on this blank.
