The Orient Rods Venus V-3 13' 3-5oz. is an enhanced version of the V2 that can truly be described as a casting rod designed for handling heavy loads under demanding conditions (headwinds, casting large PVA sticks, and heavy loads). Its efficiency in terms of performance per unit of effort is 20% higher than that of other models.
This performance boost was achieved by adding cross-prepreg to the longitudinal fibers at a specific angle, which provided additional stiffness and strength similar to that of a multi-layered reinforced blank. A finish coating with a higher elastic modulus of the fibers is also used. Thanks to these changes, it became possible to reduce the blank diameter, making the rod more elegant without losing strength.
A new design feature is the titanium and carbon butt cap, developed by our company, which is a real highlight of the rod. As with our flagship Iva rod, the handle is manufactured using a carbon sleeve. The lightweight ALPS series guides installed on the rod have only a minimal impact on the structure and flex of the blank.
