The Orient Rods Iva 13' 3.5lb, a rod equipped with the innovative TOP DRIVE CONCEPT. This concept differs from the Butt Drive by a more powerful tip action and a softer butt section, which allows a constructive increase in power (stiffness + strength) in the tip section, while the butt section is deliberately softer. This allows effective long throws. The special structural feature of the butt section ensures maximum initial acceleration of the tip (similar to the function of a whip) and stabilizes it quickly after the throw.
The synchronized system of butt and tip section offers maximum comfort when fighting a fish. The unique, patented blank design (registered in the WIPO Global Design Database DM/090 372) in fir tree shape, together with the use of the patented 5G guide system, minimizes possible overlaps when using mono lines and thick shockleaders, in strong crosswinds and old mono lines.
Equipped with FUJI K-series SIC full stainless steel guides and a first guide of 30mm, this rod offers optimal line guidance. The blank is made of high quality Toray carbon fiber materials from Japan with 55-66 msi (40T + 46T). To further protect the blank and provide even more strength and stiffness, a special 1K carbon fiber plain finish has been applied, which also serves as a reinforcing layer.
The ORIENT-FUJI reel seat with special engraving on the carbon insert and the finishing of the handle with a carbon stocking give the rod a breathtaking appearance. The structure of its surface is not only pleasant to the touch, but also non-slip, wear-resistant, easy to clean and practical in use. The butt cap made of black anodized aerospace aluminium with a carbon insert and our logo rounds off the high-quality design.
