The Korda Longshank Beaked Barbed hooks represent an evolutionary development of the original Longshank X, which was already very popular with carp anglers due to its shape and hooking efficiency, inspired by traditional fly hook patterns. However, these were specially reinforced and sharpened to meet the demands of modern carp fishing.
20 years later, influenced by its experience underwater, DF has made significant improvements to this proven model to make it an even more effective tool in its kit. The first significant change was the introduction of a hooked (beaked) tip.
Another adjustment was the increased curvature of the hook eye to 40 degrees, compared to the original 20 degrees. This modification encourages quick flipping and turning of the hook in the carp's mouth, ensuring consistently reliable hooking characteristics.
The Longshank Beaked retains the characteristics of the original, such as the forged construction and increased wire diameter for added strength, combined with a PTFE coating for durability.
Available in sizes 2, 4, 6 and 8, both barbed and barbless, and ten hooks per pack.
